From Customer to CEO: Why I Believe in We Store Frozen

From Customer to CEO: Why I Believe in We Store Frozen

Every company has a story.

What makes this one unique is that my relationship with We Store Frozen began long before I joined the leadership team. It started as a customer searching for a warehousing partner.

Before becoming CEO, I experienced firsthand what it’s like to rely on a logistics provider to support daily operations, manage inventory, and help keep a business moving. That experience shaped my perspective on what great service looks like and ultimately led me to the role I hold today.

Searching for the Right Partner

When people ask me why I joined We Store Frozen as CEO, the answer is simple: I was a customer first.

Before joining the company, I was responsible for finding a warehousing solution for a wholesale distribution operation. We needed a partner that could handle frozen storage, dry storage, case picking, and daily shipments across multiple trucks. It sounds straightforward, but finding a provider capable of delivering all of those services consistently was far more difficult than I expected.

I visited nearly every frozen storage facility in the Houston market. While many warehouses could provide storage, very few could provide the level of service and flexibility our operation required.

During that search, I met the owners of a local warehousing company. We discussed our needs, but at the time they didn’t have a solution that fit. A few months later, they called and asked if I was still looking. I told them I was.

What they shared next would eventually change my career.

They explained their vision of creating a facility that could provide frozen storage alongside dry storage, allowing customers to consolidate operations under one roof. It was exactly the type of solution I had been searching for.

Becoming the First Customer

We became their first customer.

As a customer, I quickly learned what separated We Store Frozen from many of the larger providers in the industry. It wasn’t the size of the company. It was the commitment to service.

Whenever there was a special project, a last-minute request, or an operational challenge, the team found a way to help. They consistently went above and beyond to support our business.

Over time, I realized something important:

It wasn’t the size of the company. It was the commitment to service.

The ability to pick up the phone, get answers quickly, and work with a team that genuinely cares about your success created far more value than working with a large, impersonal operation.

Why Service Matters

The logistics industry is built on relationships.

Storage capacity, technology, and operational capabilities are all important. But when challenges arise—as they inevitably do in supply chain operations—the quality of the partnership often makes the difference.

What stood out to me as a customer was the willingness of the team to solve problems, communicate openly, and remain flexible when circumstances changed. Those qualities are difficult to measure on a brochure, but they have a significant impact on day-to-day operations.

That experience gave me confidence not only in the services We Store Frozen provided, but in the people behind them.

Joining the Company

Earlier this year, the ownership group approached me about joining the company and helping lead its next phase of growth.

Having experienced the business firsthand as a customer, the decision was an easy one.

Since accepting the CEO role, it has been an incredible experience.

The people are outstanding. The operations team is committed to excellence. The ownership group is supportive, forward-thinking, and willing to invest in initiatives that improve the customer experience.

Most importantly, the entire organization shares a customer-first mindset.

The Mission Today

Everything we do starts with a simple question:

“How can we help our customers operate their business more effectively?”

That philosophy drives every decision we make.

Today, We Store Frozen provides frozen, refrigerated, and ambient storage solutions under one roof. While that may sound simple, it is actually a unique capability that is difficult to find in many markets and especially challenging to find in Houston. More importantly, we strive to be the kind of partner our customers can rely on when challenges arise and opportunities emerge.

The services we offer have grown over time, but the principle behind them remains the same:
helping customers succeed.

A Final Thought

My journey with We Store Frozen began as a customer searching for a better solution.

Today, I have the privilege of leading the company that provided it.

And every day, our mission remains the same: deliver exceptional service, create lasting partnerships, and help our customers succeed.
